About us
Our vision is a thriving, zero net carbon built environment, with buildings, communities, towns and cities powered by sustainable energy.
SEFA is the European trade association for the sustainable energy industry in the built environment. We are accelerating the transition to a net zero carbon economy by advancing the development and financing of sustainable energy across Europe’s built environment.
Under the European Green Deal, Europe will cut greenhouse gas emissions by at least 55% by 2030, setting Europe on a path to becoming climate neutral by 2050. To SEFA, this represents a unique and historic opportunity for economic development. Economies thrive on foreseeable change – it is change and investment that creates growth and can reverse widespread economic and social stagnation. This is particularly true when private and public finance are fully deployed to spur the growth of local businesses, including those launching new sustainable energy technologies at scale.
Our members are key to the long-term growth of energy efficiency and distributed renewable energy. They are innovative change makers; enabling the public and private sector to create growth and enhance well-being through the decarbonization of the built environment.
Sustainable energy investments provide financial opportunity at the heart of where we live and work. They benefit our homes, offices and energy sources. As targets are reached, Europeans will become healthier, live longer and in greater comfort, play, study and work better – all while enjoying a greener, more natural built environment. SEFA mission is to help this potential future come true.
We are accelerating the transition to a zero net carbon economy by advancing the development and financing of sustainable energy across Europe’s built environment. We empower our members with four key service areas: Communication; Capacity Building; Finance and Policy.
Our founding team
We benefit from a founding team with decades of experience in energy efficiency; finance and the transition to clean energy both in Europe and the US.
